Growing Minds (Registration No. PG0587560-D) ("we," "us," "our") provides psychoeducational assessment, one-to-one support, early intervention, weekend clubs and related services for children in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This policy explains what personal data we collect — including data about children — how we use it, and the rights you have over it. It applies to our website, our WhatsApp and email communications, and our in-person services at Unit 3-6, Residensi Park, Persiaran Jalil Utama, Bukit Jalil, 57000 Kuala Lumpur.
We process personal data in accordance with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
From parents/guardians: name, phone number, email address, and any information shared during enquiries, bookings or sessions.
About your child: name, date of birth, school, developmental and educational history, assessment results, session notes, and observations made by our team. This is sensitive personal data under the PDPA, and we treat it with additional care.
Health & emergency information: for enrolled programmes, we collect emergency contact details and relevant medical information (conditions, allergies, medication) so we can respond appropriately if your child becomes unwell or needs urgent assistance during a session.
Payment information: billing details for invoicing. We do not store full card numbers ourselves.
Website usage data: pages visited, general location and device type, collected via Google Analytics (see Section 6).
We use personal data to: assess and support your child; prepare written reports and plans for home and school; communicate with you about bookings, sessions and invoices; improve our programmes; and meet our legal and regulatory obligations. We do not use a child's assessment data for marketing.
We only share your child's information with a school, doctor or other third party with your written or verbal consent. We may share limited data with service providers who support our operations (for example, our booking and payment tools), who are bound to keep it confidential. We do not sell personal data. We may disclose information where required by Malaysian law.
At enrolment, we ask you to make a separate choice for each of the following — you can consent to some and decline others, and declining any of them does not affect your child's enrolment or access to services:
You can withdraw consent for any of these at any time by contacting us in writing; we'll stop new uses once we receive your request, though material already printed, distributed, or lawfully published beforehand may not always be capable of being fully recalled or removed.
Records are stored on access-controlled systems, and physical documents are kept in a locked location at our studio. We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse, though no system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Our website uses Google Analytics (via Google's gtag.js) to understand how visitors use the site. This may set cookies and collect data such as pages viewed and approximate location. You can opt out using your browser settings or the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
We keep assessment reports and session records for as long as they remain useful to your child's development, and as required for our professional and legal record-keeping obligations. You can ask us about our retention period for your child's file at any time, and request deletion where the law allows it.
Under the PDPA, you may request access to the personal data we hold about you or your child, ask us to correct inaccurate data, and withdraw consent for us to process it (which may affect our ability to continue providing services). To make a request, contact us using the details below.
Our website itself is intended for parents and guardians, not for children to browse unsupervised. Any information about a child that reaches us comes from a parent, guardian, or from us directly during a booked session — not from a child submitting it through our website.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Continued use of our services after a change means you accept the updated policy.
If you have questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at hallo.growingminds@gmail.com or via WhatsApp, or write to us at Unit 3-6, Residensi Park, Persiaran Jalil Utama, Bukit Jalil, 57000 Kuala Lumpur.
We're happy to walk you through exactly what we hold and why.
